on the way to Armenia!
Camilla did great and has been such a wonderful traveling companion. We flew out on saturday August the 4th for a two week conference in Tsaghkadzor, Armenia. This is an awesome opportunity for us to connect with all our fellow co-workers within the YWAM family in Eastern Europe, while God also speaks vison and purpose for YWAM as a mission here in this region. We were able to travel with some of our team from Vinnitsa, as well as many others working in Ukraine.
It was a full day of travel as we left our house at 5 am and got on a train to Kyiv, we arrived to Kyiv at 8:30 and took a Marshrutka to the airport. At the airport however, we had quite the adventure. I knew going through customs that I would have to pay a fine for being over my allotted 90 stay, however I didn’t know the appropriate way to pay this fine. A man pulled me aside and told me I would have to pay, I said, “that’s fine, I have cash… is that ok?” He said yes and took my money and let me go through… turns out however I need a receipt to get back in to the country with my 90 days starting fresh (complicated I know) Apparently the guy had pocketed the money because when I came back and asked for the receipt… he didn’t want to give it to me because it would take to long, then handed my passport and boarding pass back, when I opened it the money I had given him was there and he didn’t look happy. I’m so glad that the Lord gave me grace to do the right thing and protection from the man pocketing the money and me having to pay double. I was only able to make the flight because of 8 wonderful friends and co-workers refusing to board without me, and of course the Lords hand of protection on our family. The Lord has been so gracious to us and we have seen and heard Him here in Armenia, further showing us His hand of provision has been very instrumental in bringing us here.
Continue to pray for our travels back to Ukraine, and that upon arrival there in Kyiv that Tetyana’s Visa process would be smooth and we will be able to fly to the states at the end of the month. Camilla is healthy and we are so grateful for this and the Lords continued presence with us.
